LIRC uses 201 mainly for yard work and for small loads running between Jeff Yard and Columbus.
Before LIRC acquired 201, it was New York & Atlantic (NYA) 201. NYA sold the locomotive to LIRC
shortly after having it modified from a GP-9 to a GP-10.
Soon, I will be adding a picture or two of 202 to this page.
As a GP-9, 201 was known as Conrail 7595. The only reference to CR7595 that I have been able
to find is a picture taken in Altoona with 7595 in the background. Any additional information
about this locomotive's life with and before Conrail would be appreciated.
If you have any more information, please e-mail me.
